Back to school, so soon. Moved right across the courtyard of the Wits management campus. However, as Osho proclaimed, “One never comes again to the same. Things come and go, but it is never the same.” In the post-COVID-19 academic environment, now all the exams are online. The people I did my first masters with in 2018, I just cannot expect the same sense of camaraderie with my new fellow students. I begin this academic journey with the wisdom of one who is now over 40—not excited by outshining peers in a class setting, but fully aware it’s about how much focused time I dedicate in the solitude of course work preparations and dissertation write-ups.
